Fastpass Attractions in the Magic Kingdom

 

Going to Walt Disney World for the first time or just aren’t sure which attractions to make a Fastpass for? In this article I detail all of the attractions in the Magic Kingdom that offer Fastpasses so you can better determine which rides are best for your family.

Priority C Attractions
These attractions wont save you very much time in line. There are attractions that are a better use of your fastpass.

Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid
Type: Slow Moving Dark Ride
Height Requirement: None
Good For: The Whole Family
Typical Wait Time: 20 – 30 minutes
Best Time to Ride: Before Noon After 4pm
Ride Length: 6 min 15 seconds
Handicap Access: Guest May Remain in their Wheelchairs
Description: 
Relive the tale of how one lucky little mermaid found true love—and legs! Enter Prince Eric’s castle through an underground cavern at low tide, board a colorful clamshell and take the plunge. You’ll become part of a world where mermaids dream of dancing, fish form a conga line, evil sea witches ensnare souls and unlikely pairs fall in love… and live happily ever after.

Dumbo the Flying Elephant

Good For: Preschoolers, Classic Disney Fans

Ride Length: 1 min 30 seconds
Handicap Access: Guests may remain in their wheelchairs
Description: During your aerial adventure, you can direct Dumbo to soar skyward or fly low by moving the handle inside the Dumbo-themed gondola. Feel the wind in your face as you take in the sweeping views of Storybook Circus below.

it’s a small world
Type: Slow Moving Boat Ride
Height Requirement: None
Good For:  Families with Young Children, Classic Disney Fans
Typical Wait Time: 20 – 40 minutes
Best Time to Ride: Before Noon After 6pm
Ride Length: 10 min 30 seconds
Handicap Access: Guests must be able to transfer from their ECVs into a wheelchair in order to ride.
Description: Sing along to the classic anthem of world peace during a delightful musical boat tour hosted by the children of the world. From a colorful dock, climb aboard a cozy boat and set sail along the Seven Seaways Waterway on a 10-minute journey. Amid a vibrant, multi-colored backdrop exquisitely crafted out of papier-mâché, glitter and fabric, behold a cast of almost 300 traditionally dressed, dimple darlings from nearly every corner of the globe sing a simple song in their native language about universal harmony and dance. Travel to all 7 continents and, by journey’s end, see for yourself that it truly is a small world after all.

 

Mad Tea Party

Good For: People without Motion Sickness

Best Time to Ride: Before Noon After 4pm
Ride Length: 1 min 30 seconds
Handicap Access: Pour yourself into an oversized teacup and twirl quickly or slowly amid a menagerie of color and sound. Celebrate your “un-birthday” in Wonderland as you sail back and forth around a towering teapot beneath a windswept party of paper lanterns, as festive music fills the air.

 

Mickey’s Philharmagic
Type: 3D Movie
Height Requirement: None
Good For: The Whole Family
Typical Wait Time: 10 – 20 minutes
Best Time to Ride: Anytime
Ride Length: 12 minutes
Handicap Access: Guests may remain in their wheelchairs to experience this attraction.
Description: Disney magic meets Disney music in this spectacular 12-minute 3D fantasy adventure starring Donald Duck.

Monster’s Inc. Laugh Floor
Type: Interactive Comedy Show
Height Requirement: None
Good For: The Whole Family
Typical Wait Time: 20 – 30 minutes
Best Time to Ride: Anytime
Ride Length: 11 minutes
Handicap Access: Guests do not need to transfer from their wheelchairs or ECVs.  For guests requiring assistance with hearing, assistive listening devices to amplify the sound are available from Guest Services. Some captioning is available in the preshow also
Description: Discover the power of laughter from the original Monsters of Comedy during a hilarious interactive show. Continuing the zany adventures of Mike Wazowski and company from the hit Disney•Pixar animated films Monsters, Inc. and Monsters University, this fun-filled attraction invites you to be unafraid and laugh out loud.

The Magic Carpets of Aladdin
Type: Slow Moving Flying Ride
Height Requirement: None
Good For: Preschoolers
Typical Wait Time: 20 – 40 minutes
Best Time to Ride: Before Noon After 4pm
Ride Length: 1 min 30 seconds
Handicap Access: Take off on a magical ride above a bustling bazaar aboard an enchanted carpet that you control. Climb aboard a colorful, 4-passenger vehicle and take off into the air as the strings of Middle Eastern music play overhead.

Priority B Attractions
Using FP+ here will usually save some time as compared to the attraction’s average standby wait. These are great for a second day in the park. Fastpasses are typically available same day for your 4th selection.

Pirates of the Caribbean
Type: Slow Moving Dark Ride

Good For: The Whole Family – May be scary for little ones.

Description: Take off on a treacherous voyage to the 17th century, when rowdy rogues and rapscallions ruled seaport towns along the Spanish Main under the watchful eye of “Jolly Roger.”

Haunted Mansion

Description: Edge into a shadowy foyer and climb aboard a gloomy Doom Buggy for a supernatural journey through a labyrinth of haunted chambers. Glide past a casket-filled conservatory, a chilling séance room and a ghostly graveyard of singing specters as you attempt to find your way out. Blending giggling ghouls with things that go bump in the night, this classic attraction promises to send chills up and down your shivering spine.

Description:Let your hair down for a magical meeting with Rapunzel. She is very excited to meet you and share stories of her many adventures… and maybe even hear about some of yours too! Swap a special story with Princess Tiana and make a wish upon the evening star.

 

Tomorrowland Speedway

Description: Take the wheel of a gas-powered car and speed through a winding track to Victory Circle. Stroll past classic racing marquees and make your way to the racing pit, home to growling, multi-colored speedsters. Designed to look like the famed Indiana Motor Speedway, the racetrack includes well-known backdrops of the motoring world.

Meet Mickey Mouse at Town Square Theater

Description:Mickey Mouse is in his rehearsal room, ready to meet his biggest fans. Discover props and posters from Mickey’s magical career in the theater and maybe even spot a disappearing dove or a rabbit coming out of a hat. The greatest magic of all happens when you get a hug from Mickey Mouse himself.

Meet Tinker Bell at Town Square Theater
Type: Character Meet and Greet

Description: Shrink down to the size of a fairy as you’re transported from the Garden Theater into Pixie Hollow. Step through the magical portal to join Tinker Bell as she showcases a collection of her treasures from the mainland. After spending time with a fairy, you too may wish you could fly away toward the second star to the right!

Meet Ariel at Her Grotto
Type: Character Meet and Greet
Height Requirement: None
Good For: Princess Fans
Typical Wait Time: 20 – 50 minutes

Handicap Access: Guests may remain in Wheelchair/ ECV
Description: Venture into a seaside grotto, where you’ll find Ariel amongst some of her treasures. She has gadgets and gizmos aplenty, and she’s always happy to make new friends – especially human ones!

The Barnstormer
Type: Starter Coaster
Height Requirement: 35″
Good For: Gradeshoolers
Typical Wait Time: 20 – 40 minutes
Best Time to Ride: Before 12pm after 4pm
Ride Length: 1 min 3 seconds
Handicap Access: Guests in wheelchairs must be able to transfer from their chairs.
Description: Climb aboard a wacky stunt plane and become a part of The Great Goofini’s daredevil act. Step underneath a grand circus marquee and make your way to an open-air barn where Goofy—known as The Great Goofini—has been known to perform his world-famous high-flying show. Once inside the red hanger, board one of Goofy’s very own stunt biplanes and hold on tight as you prepare to take to the skies above Fantasyland.

Priority A Attractions
Using FP+ here will usually save the most time as compared to the attraction’s average standby wait. You should make your fastpasses for three of these attractions.

Seven Dwarves Mine Train
Type: Family Coaster
Height Requirement: 38″
Good For: Families with Children
Typical Wait Time: 60 – 120 minutes
Best Time to Ride: First Half Hour the Park is Open or Use Fastpass
Ride Length: 2 min 30 seconds
Handicap Access:Guests must transfer from wheelchair/ECV
Description: Whistle a cheery “Heigh-Ho” and relive some of the magic from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs aboard a speeding mine cart. Follow a winding path through the Enchanted Forest and make your way inside the rocky tunnel of an age-old mountain. Hop into a rustic mine train—hewn together with wood and metal bands—and wind your way up a steep hill.

Peter Pan’s Flight

Description: Sail high into the moonlit sky with Peter Pan. Board a colorful galleon and, with the help of some pixie dust, embark on a high-flying adventure, passing many of the unforgettable settings and scenes made famous in Disney’s animated film, Peter Pan.

Space Mountain

Description: Journey throughout the cosmos to the furthest reaches of the galaxy and back! Navigate a shadowy, neon-lit space station and make your way to a bustling Control Tower, passing a constellation of glowing astronaut training stations along the way. Inside a futuristic launch pad, board a sleek rocket-shaped vehicle and prepare yourself for a high-flying adventure into deep space.

Splash Mountain

Description: Float along a colorful bayou—past delightful singing critters—to a thrilling 5-story splashdown. Hop inside a hollowed-out log and gently drift past rocky caves, vine-strewn swamps and sun-drenched meadows as you accompany happy-go-lucky Br’er Rabbit from his home in the Briar Patch on a search for his “laughing place.” But be warned: Br’er Bear and Br’er Fox are in hot pursuit of the roaming rabbit and they’ll do anything they can to catch him!

Amid rugged bedrock and desert cactus, venture inside a nearly 200-foot mountain to the Big Thunder Mining Company, established in the early days of America’s Gold Rush. Traipse down into an abandoned mine shaft and discover a mysterious 5-car locomotive waiting to take you on a journey inside an abandoned shaft

Enchanted Tales with Belle

Description: Explore Maurice’s cottage and workshop—home to mementos and gadgets—before being magically transported to the Beast’s library. Once there, you’ll share moments with Belle, and you may even be invited to play a part in her famous story. Will you be an enchanted object… or perhaps fill the role of the Beast with a heart of gold.

 

Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin

Description: Take aim with your space cannon and fire an invisible infrared laser at a constellation of “Z” insignias. Following an introductory mission briefing with Buzz Lightyear, board an XP-37 star cruiser, take hold of the onboard cannon and begin your space crusade into the Gamma Quadrant.

Description: Trek to a forgotten tropical jungle outpost—home to suspended cargo nets, wooden crates and lanterns—and board a canopied tramp steamer for a tongue-in-cheek adventure led by a trusty skipper through some of the world’s most treacherous rivers. Along the way, take in lively narration from your friendly skipper, known for a brave heart and a clever joke… or two.

 

The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh

Description: Glide and bounce and swirl through some of the most popular scenes and settings of Winnie the Pooh. Board a giant Hunny Pot and get lost in the pages of A.A. Milne’s classic tales, as you journey to Hundred Acre Wood.
